Upgrade, downgrade, and manage your Bklit subscription
Updating Billing
This guide covers managing your Bklit subscription and billing.
Accessing Billing Settings
- Go to your workspace dashboard
- Click "Settings" in the sidebar
- Click "Billing"
Or navigate directly to:
/{organizationId}/settings/billingUpgrading to Pro
Step 1: Navigate to Billing
Go to workspace settings → Billing
Step 2: Click Upgrade
Click the "Upgrade to Pro" button
Step 3: Complete Checkout
You'll be redirected to Polar checkout:
- Review plan details
- Enter payment information
- Complete purchase
Step 4: Confirmation
After successful checkout:
- Plan updates immediately
- Pro features are enabled
- Billing portal access is available
Managing Subscription
Access Billing Portal
- Go to Billing settings
- Click "Manage Subscription"
- Opens Polar billing portal
Available Actions
In the billing portal, you can:
- Update payment method
- View invoices
- Download receipts
- Change billing period
- Cancel subscription
Downgrading to Free
Step 1: Cancel Subscription
- Go to Billing settings
- Click "Manage Subscription"
- Cancel subscription in Polar portal
Step 2: Plan Reverts
- Subscription remains active until end of period
- Plan reverts to Free at period end
- Pro features disabled after period ends
Step 3: Data Retention
- All data is retained
- Access to historical data remains
- New limits apply (projects, events, etc.)
Payment Methods
Adding Payment Method
- Go to Billing portal
- Click "Payment Methods"
- Add credit card or other method
- Set as default
Updating Payment Method
- Go to Billing portal
- Click "Payment Methods"
- Update existing method
- Save changes
Invoices and Receipts
Viewing Invoices
- Go to Billing portal
- Click "Invoices"
- View all past invoices
- Download PDF
Receipts
Receipts are automatically emailed after each payment.
Subscription Status
Active
- Subscription is active
- Pro features available
- Billing continues automatically
Canceled
- Subscription canceled
- Access until end of period
- Reverts to Free after period
Past Due
- Payment failed
- Pro features may be limited
- Update payment method to restore
Billing Period
Monthly
- Billed monthly
- Recurring charge each month
- Cancel anytime
Yearly
- Billed annually
- Often includes discount
- Cancel anytime (prorated refund)
Troubleshooting
Payment Failed
- Check payment method is valid
- Update payment method if needed
- Contact support if issue persists
Subscription Not Updating
- Check webhook is configured
- Verify Polar webhook secret
- Check webhook logs
- Contact support if needed
Wrong Plan
- Verify subscription in Polar
- Check webhook received events
- Refresh dashboard
- Contact support if needed
